How can I ’save‘ my customers' card details for future use, e.g. for recurring payments?

Each card, bank or user account that is used for payment within Payengine is transformed into a Payment Instrument whose unique ID represents an encrypted token.

Recurring payments can be initiated by using the paymentInstrumentId when communicating with the Payengine API or through the Merchant Center, provided the appropriate payment method or scheme supports recurring payments.

Please note that a credit card must first be successfully authenticated through a strong authentication process such as 3D Secure before it supports recurring payments.
