    Overview of Netaxept payment pages/terminals

This page gives an overview of the available card payment pages/terminals in Netaxept.

    Terminals introduction

In Netaxept terminology, the card payment page is referred to as the “terminal.” This designation originates from the time when it was regarded as the digital counterpart of the physical payment terminals used in retail stores, restaurants, fuel stations, and similar environments.

As payments become increasingly digitalized, the distinction between physical in-store terminals and eCommerce payments is gradually diminishing. Today, it is common to see mobile card payments replacing traditional terminal-based transactions in areas such as parking, fueling, charging, and public transportation.

Against this backdrop, our latest terminal, version 2, has been specifically designed to support the mobile channel. Our earlier solutions, versions 1.0 and 1.1, can also be adapted for mobile use, though with certain limitations compared to version 2, which is the recommended one.

    Terminal V2

Version 2 – our most advanced payment terminal

Version 2 represents the next generation of our payment terminal, designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape. It delivers a seamless, consistent payment experience across channels, supporting both traditional web browsers and mobile devices. Customers can complete their purchases quickly and intuitively, while merchants benefit from higher conversion rates and reduced friction at checkout.

At the core of Version 2 is a new, decoupled UI architecture, purpose-built to replace legacy technologies. This modern foundation ensures long-term scalability, easier maintenance, and faster adaptation to future requirements. It also enables the adoption of contemporary UX and accessibility best practices, ensuring that the terminal is inclusive, intuitive, and compliant with international standards.

    Terminal V1.0

This terminal represents the longest-standing version within Netaxept’s portfolio and continues to be actively used by many of our merchants. Its stability and familiarity have made it a trusted choice over the years, and it remains a reliable solution for handling online payments.

From a functional perspective, the terminal supports the two-step payment flow, where customers begin by selecting their preferred payment method before moving forward with the transaction. This clear structure ensures a straightforward checkout process for both merchants and end users.

The terminal is primarily designed for browser-based use, providing merchants with a dependable option for desktop environments.

The visual design and user interface of this version are now somewhat dated compared to our newer releases. We therefore recommend that merchants upgrade to the latest version, or at the very least to Version 1.1, in order to benefit from a more contemporary look and feel, as well as an improved user experience.

    Terminal V1.1

Version 1.1 introduces a refreshed visual interface that provides a more modern and contemporary look compared to Version 1.0. While the underlying functionality remains identical to the previous release, the updated design enhances the overall user experience by making the payment window feel cleaner and more intuitive.

Functionally, Version 1.1 continues to support the two-step payment flow, where customers first select their preferred payment method before proceeding to the checkout step. This structure ensures clarity for the user while maintaining compatibility with existing payment processes.

Version 1.1 is primarily optimized for browser use, offering a smooth and reliable experience on desktop environments. For the mobile channel, it can also be deployed within a web view, allowing merchants to integrate it seamlessly into their mobile applications without sacrificing functionality.
